Hello families!

We are Walking for Wenjack. This is a project where we walk outside in our field to remember Chanie Wejack's walk away from residential school towards home. More information here: https://downiewenjack.ca/

So far we have over 100 km! We track our walks on Ms Hatch's gps, and here's a map of our last 2.5km walk:

In school we are working on the following learning outcomes:

Language Arts: 

- writing about texts

- short vowel sounds

- writing and performing small skits

- reading for 20 minutes

Math:

- mental math strategies (adding/subtracting in their heads)

Science: 

- Metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary rock identification

Gym:

- general fitness skills

Art:

- watercolour technique
