 This week in our learning:

Math: We are learning how to measure length using non-standard measurement tools. Your student might try measuring with paper clips, rods, sticks and our feet! We are developing our understanding of estimating using a known length, and making comparisons.

Science: This was our last week studying small flying or crawling animals. Students picked their own interesting animal and researched its lifecycle, habitat, appearance, diet and special vocabulary. Ask your student all about their animal!

Social Studies: This week Mr Huppie worked with each class to learn more about Indigenous Veterans. We learned about the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument in Ottawa and the meaning of all the figures. We also read the Peace Book by Todd Parr and have thought carefully about what peace means to each of us. We recorded ourselves and have contributed to the school Remembrance Day assembly video we will get to view next week.

Language Arts: We continue to work on learning how to write about ourselves. Key features of our writing include using capitals and end-punctuation, and ensuring we have complete sentences.

Music: We have begun learning our Winter Concert music!

Thank you for all your support at home!
Ms Fuchs and Ms Hatch
